Massey Ferguson, a worldwide brand of AGCO (NYSE:AGCO), proudly announce the introduction the new MF 8700 S range at the SIMA Show in Paris. The six latest models are now powered by AGCO Power 8.4 litre, six cylinder engines that comply with the strictest Stage V emissions regulations using an advanced, yet straightforward, maintenance-free after treatment system.

Straightforward Stage V compliance

Massey Ferguson has chosen to take an uncomplicated route to comply with the tough Stage V rules by employing a novel Exhaust After Treatment (EAT) system. This is integrated outside the bonnet and is based on the award-winning All-In-One selective catalytic reduction (SCR) unit, first introduced on the MF 5700 S Series.

The only difference is the addition of a new Soot Catalyst and a slight change to exhaust pipe, which is now narrower than before.Maximum powers, at 1,900rpm, and with Engine Power Management (EPM) also remain unchanged

Operating costs are further reduced by new maintenance-free hydraulic, self-adjusting tappets and 600hr engine service intervals.

Smooth seamless shifting

All MF 8700 S tractors are equipped with the renowned Dyna-VT continuously variable transmission (CVT). Its ability to set any forward speed at any engine rpm enables operators to maximise productivity, increase efficiency and work quality.

Operators can set the transmission using a range of control systems and modes, which make it easy adjust the Dyna-VT to suit all tasks and conditions. Direction changes are made simply and easily using the Power Control lever on the left-hand side, or Multipad joystick, which both can be used to also change speeds or select neutral.

Light, strong and agile

With an unladen weight of just 10.8t, which is 4t lighter than other tractors in its class, the MF 8700 S offers a class-leading power to weight ratio of just 26.7kg/hp. While light in weight, it is also easy to ballast up for draft work, to provide superb economy and performance in all operations.

The inherent strength of the MF 8700 S range also enables the tractors to handle heavy loads on the 12t lift capacity rear linkage, as well as deliver offer an impressive maximum permitted weight of 18t. Efficiency is further enhanced by the fully integrated 5t capacity front linkage option.

Closed Centre Load Sensing hydraulics, generating a maximum flow of 205 litres/min at 200 bar, provide the hydraulic power required to meet the demands imposed by modern implements and equipment.

Advanced tablet-style control

All MF 8700 S tractors are equipped with the latest Datatronic 5 terminal as standard.This provides tablet style operation and comes complete with Auto-Guide automatic steering and a host of precision farming options.

The powerful, ISOBUS compatible, terminal’s 9in touch-screen uses the most modern technology, making it as easy to use as a smartphone or tablet, enabling operators to access and change settings quickly and instinctively.

As well as providing comprehensive tractor and implement control, Datatronic 5 can also build into a comprehensive precision farming platform with MF Section Control, and MF Task Doc (data management).

A choice of Efficient or Exclusive specification packages allow users to select the best working environment, comfort and controls to suit their business. Both are equipped with the comfortable four-post cab, which provides superb 360° visibility. Standard CDC (Active Mechanical) cab suspension ensures operators benefit from optimum comfort – whatever the terrain or conditions.
