Bobcat is an American based manufacturer of farm and construction equipment including a range of smaller excavators as well as various materials handlers. Dating back to Minnesota in 1956, Bobcat was used as the trade name for Melroe from 1962, including on skid-steer loaders. In 1969 Melroe was purchased by Clark which in turn was bought by Ingersoll-Rand in 1995 and then in 2007 to Korean based Doosan, the Bobcat name being retained.
