Belair chooses new UK distributor

Belair has chosen JVS Machinery to be the sole distributor of bedding machines, mixer wagons, and self-loading wagons in the UK. The French manufacturer produces a range of livestock machinery including zero grazing and forage equipment.

JVS Machinery is owned and run by husband and wife, James and Victoria Seaton. Mr Seaton’s experience of contracting and his background in dairy farming made him the perfect choice for Belair. “We are based in Shropshire, but we serve the whole of the UK. We know Belair equipment has been popular so we want customers to know that we are here to help with parts and new machines,” says Mr Seaton.

JVS Machinery offers the full range of Belair products new, and also refurbishes used units. “Some existing customers have upgraded to newer models and this is creating a market for used machines,” says Mr Seaton. To support farmers with existing Belair machines the business is also offering parts, servicing and repairs throughout the UK. James adds: “These machines are made of quality materials and can be reconditioned to a high standard for those who prefer to buy used. We have confidence in the build quality and believe these machines are the best available in the UK for this type of work.”

Belair products include the Brick, a straw bedder, and the Gabare, a range of self-loading wagons. “The Brick has sold very well in Scotland and we are helping existing customers to maintain their machines whilst offering the full range of new machines,” says Mr Seaton. The largest of the self-loading wagons is the Gabare Premium XL. “It has a 2.25 metre wide twin drum front mower and can carry more than ten tonnes of fresh grass. These machines cut at just the right height so as not to damage the sward. Those who have implemented a zero grazing system are using these machines daily to bring grass to their cows,” James explains.

Belair began making farm machinery in 1964. The company now employs nearly fifty members of staff and distributes machinery worldwide. “We are proud to be working with a machinery manufacturer with history as rich as Belair’s and we look forward to helping farmers to buy and maintain Belair products in the future,” concludes Mr Seaton.
