Manitou Group innovates

Manitou Group, a world reference in the handling, aerial work platform and earth moving sectors, will preview its first electric telehandler dedicated to the agricultural market at Agribex.

THE FIRST AGRICULTURAL ELECTRIC TELEHANDLER

The MLT 625e compact telehandler is Manitou’s first electric machine for the agricultural market. Since there are no exhaust emissions, this model is frequently used inside farm buildings and greenhouses. The MLT 625e is particularly well suited to the livestock, equestrian and nursery sectors. With its wide range of attachments, it can be used for a wide variety of applications, from fodder distribution and manure loading to bale and pallet handling. (The entire range of attachments available on the diesel MLT 625 is compatible with the electric model.)

PERFORMANCE WORTHY OF A COMBUSTION ENGINE MODEL

With a maximum capacity of 2.5 t and 2 t at a height of 6 m, the MLT 625e boasts one of the best load charts on the market for this size. Manoeuvrability is excellent thanks to 4-wheel steering, three steering modes and a tight turning radius of just 3.31m. A “boost” mode is available on this model, enabling maximum travel speed to be reached in a very short time, and faster hydraulic movements. This feature is available as standard and is activated at the touch of a button on the dashboard. The MLT 625e is also equipped with a flow-sharing control valve for maximum comfort thanks to cumulative hydraulic movements (deployment, boom lift, etc.). Like its internal combustion engine version, this 100% electric model is perfectly suited to harsh climatic conditions, with temperatures ranging from -15 °C to +50 °C. No compromise has been made on the machine’s off-road capabilities, with rear axle oscillation, high ground clearance and agricultural profile tires as standard.

 PREMIUM COMFORT

The MLT 625e offers excellent operator comfort with a cab that is particularly well soundproofed and accessible without steps, reducing operator fatigue. Unlike its combustion engine counterpart, the MLT 625e features a “Harmony” display with driver assistance, which is already present on many models in the MLT NewAg range. 60 pop-ups, translated into over 25 languages, are available to assist the operator. It is equipped with a Joystick Switch and Move, a driver presence sensor and an automatic parking brake for added safety. The MLT 625e comes as standard with LED main beam headlights and worklights for excellent night-time visibility, a phone holder and an adjustable steering column.

INCREASED PROFITABILITY

Recharging the lithium-ion battery is made easy by an integrated 9 kW charger, which recharges in just three hours from a 380 V socket. The machine also adapts to existing electrical infrastructures, and can be recharged using a standard household socket. Maintenance of the MLT 625e is optimised thanks to an anti-emulsion filter that reduces the volume of hydraulic oil required. “We also opted for a lithium-ion battery so that farmers can concentrate on their business, not on maintaining its battery. This battery requires no special maintenance”, explains Camille Rouvrais, Manitou Group Telehandler Product Manager. Maintenance is made easy, with access to the rear of the boom and a housing that can be removed without special tools, allowing any straw residue to be removed. It lasts for around 4 hours of continuous use in standard mode. A regeneration system is activated when the accelerator pedal is released to recover energy during deceleration. This regeneration has a positive impact on the machine’s autonomy.
