Massey Ferguson launches the versatile, compact and comfortable MF 3700 AL Series

Massey Ferguson, a worldwide brand of AGCO (NYSE:AGCO), is proud to announce the introduction of three new tractors in the MF 3700 AL Series. With a choice of 75hp, 85hp or 95hp these compact models are designed specifically to combine stability and comfort with a high specification for those working in hilly terrains.

“These new tractors are another important step in Massey Ferguson’s continuing full-line strategy,” says Francesco Quaranta Vice President Sales, Marketing & Product Management Massey Ferguson EME. “Our concentration on the sub-130hp sector came into sharp focus with the launch of the 75hp-130hp Global Series in 2014 and received another major boost with the introduction of the MF 3700 Series in 2017.

“Today, with the launch of the MF 3700 AL tractors, we are further expanding the choice in this sector to meet our goal of ensuring we offer the right product for every application – ensuring our customers’ needs are at the heart of everything we do.”

All MF 3700 AL models come with a choice of a standard wide, flat-floor or a tunnel cab option, which can reduce the overall height down to less than 2.44m. Coupled with the superb manoeuvrability, this ensures they offer easy access to work inside and around traditional farm buildings.

These strong, stable tractors, which sit between the existing MF 3700 VSF range and the MF 4700 Series, are built on a longer and wide chassis. Equipped to a high specification as standard, there is also wide range of options to enable owners to configure and tailor their tractor to their specific needs.

With their compact dimensions, wide, comfortable cab and high standard specification the MF 3700 AL tractors are ideal for loader work and duties around busy dairy and livestock units. At the same time their big tractor features in a light, compact frame, make them ideal general workhorses for a wide range of fieldwork from grassland operations to drilling, spraying and spreading.

Versatile compact design

A new chassis, with rear track widths from 1,150mm to 1,908mm on a 2,156mm long wheelbase, allows the fitment of R30 (30in) tyres to provide outstanding stability. Together with the superb power and traction these features make these tractors true mountaineers, able to negotiate difficult terrain, hills and slopes with ease: that’s why Massey Ferguson named them the AL representing“ALPINE” series.

At 1.4m wide, the new comfortable cab, is 20cm wider than that on the existing MF 3700 VSF models and is available in two formats. Equipped with the flat floor the cab height is 2.53m on 16.9 R30 tyres. Selecting the tunnel version reduces that to 2.44m on the same tyres.

Inside operators will find a light and airy workplace with a pneumatic suspension seat. Among the many options are air-conditioning, USB port, DAB/Bluetooth radio and electric mirror de-icing and adjustment.

Slick changing, efficient transmission

All MF 3700 AL models are equipped with Massey Ferguson’s sector-leading 24/12 PowerShuttle transmission, which comes with SpeedShift – a two-speed powershift. This offers simple operation of eight ‘clutchless’ changes in each of the three ranges, using buttons on the gear lever.

Comprehensive transmission and hydraulic control is also provided by the unique Multifunction joystick. Mounted on the right-hand console, this operates the front linkage, spool valves and transmission functions including direction changes, powershift steps and a declutch button.

High performance workhorse

Power for all models is delivered by a straightforward 3.4 litre, four cylinder engine, which does not require the addition of AdBlue with running costs further reduced by its 600hr service intervals. This perky performer generates 75hp in the MF 3707 AL, 85hp in the 3708 AL and 95hp in the MF 3709 AL, with corresponding maximum torques of 320Nm, 365Nm and 395Nm, respectively.

Its strong chassis and 3t capacity, electronically operated three-point linkage make the MF 3700 AL Series strong in-field performers. A 540/540E PTO is standard, while a number of options make it suitable to power a range of implements, including those requiring a ground-speed PTO.

With a maximum flow of 95 litres/min dedicated to the auxiliary hydraulics, there is plenty of hydraulic performance to match the most modern implements. Two electro-hydraulic spool valves are standard, while there is an option for up to four, including front and mid-mounting points.
