Foreign bodies in the feed ration mix are not only a nuisance but can also seriously endanger the health of animals and damage the feeding equipment.

To avoid this problem and the risk of animals ingesting metallic foreign objects via the ration mix, Bernard van Lengerich Maschinenfabrik (BvL) has for a long time fitted special foreign body magnets, which are mounted directly on the mixing augers in the feed mixer.

As an option, users can now fit a new stronger foreign body magnet to the feed mixer augers. Its magnetic field is more than twice as strong as that of its predecessor thanks to two integrated, continuous magnetic plates. This makes it particularly effective in use. The new magnets are housed in a stainless steel container, which is not only extremely robust but also waterproof, and does not affect the operation of the mixing augers.
